Christina Tschernitz began her vocal training at the Carinthian music schools under Michael Paumgarten, before taking up her voice studies at the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music in Klagenfurt. In 2022 she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy (class of Ulrike Finder and Ferdinand von Bothmer). She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Solo Voice at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) under Uta Schwabe.

During her studies, Christina Tschernitz appeared in numerous university productions, among them Suschen in Heinrich Marschner’s Der Holzdieb, Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Mrs. Pinkerton in Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief. She made her role debuts as Frasquita in Carmen für Kinder and as Musetta in La Bohème für Kinder at the Stadttheater Baden. In July 2025 she made her debut on a major opera stage as Annina in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at the Wiener Opernsommer, alongside international opera stars.

Her concert and oratorio work has led to collaborations with Jeunesse Wien, the SFK Euro Symphony Orchester, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra and Kantorei Oberschützen. She holds the KS Gabriele Sima Vocal Scholarship and is a prize winner of the Young Voices Alpe Adria competition of the Musikverein Graz, where she made her debut in March 2025 accompanied by the chamber orchestra con fuoco.

Alongside her concert work she teaches as a vocal coach, among others for Chorverband Kärnten and Klangforum Viktring. More recently she has extended her teaching into theatre pedagogy, devising and leading workshops for children and young people — among others at the La Guitarra Esencial festival and for Prima la musica / Ensemble Musik kreativ. Christina Tschernitz lives in Klagenfurt and Vienna.
