Biography

Christina Tschernitz was born in 1997 in Feldkirchen, Carinthia. She began her vocal training at the Carinthian Music Schools under Michael Paumgarten, before going on to study voice at the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music in Klagenfurt. In 2022 she completed her Bachelor's degree in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy under Ulrike Finder and Ferdinand von Bothmer, and is currently completing her Master's degree in Solo Voice at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) under Uta Schwabe.
During her studies, Christina Tschernitz appeared in numerous university productions, among them Suschen in Heinrich Marschner's Der Holzdieb, Papagena in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and Mrs. Pinkerton in Gian Carlo Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief. She made her role debuts as Frasquita in Carmen für Kinder and as Musetta in La Bohème für Kinder at the Stadttheater Baden. In July 2025 she made her debut on a major opera stage: as Annina in Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata during the Wiener Opernsommer.
Her concert and oratorio work has led to collaborations with Jeunesse Wien, Ensemble Neue Streicher Wien, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, and Kantorei Oberschützen. She is the recipient of the KS Gabriele Sima Vocal Scholarship and a prize winner of the Young Voices Alpe Adria Competition at the Musikverein Graz. In March 2025 she made her debut with the chamber orchestra "con fuoco".
Christina Tschernitz lives in Klagenfurt and Vienna. Alongside her concert career, she works as a vocal coach, teaching singers ranging from classical repertoire to pop music and choir singing — among others for Chorverband Kärnten and Klangforum Viktring.
